Here's a recognized and rather luxurious establishment for the Alfama. In this large vaulted medieval hall (former palace of the Counts of Linhares), lit by candlelight, three high-flying fadists perform every evening from 9.15pm. Exceptional singers have performed here, including Ana Moura, Celeste Rodrigues (sister of Amália Rodrigues) and the young Vânia Duarte. In the kitchen, dishes from here and abroad are prepared, and you'll be pleased to find a choice of meats and fish cooked with refinement.
