A must-see on Rossio Square. This theater, built in 1842, is one of Portugal's national theaters. Inaugurated in 1846, it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times during its history. This institution collaborates with street artists such as Vhils, who has painted 4 portraits of famous actresses on the top floor of the theater. If you ask nicely, you can visit them... The theater also houses a fantastic bookshop, which you can visit.

Théatre
Magnifique bâtiment situé place de Rossio. Très belle structure extérieure de style néo classique avec de majestueuses colonnes. Le fronton est surmonté de nombreuses statues. La façade est Illuminée le soir. C’est un centre d’intérêt culturel. Très beau programme avec de nombreuses représentations. Pas de visite, uniquement avec guides sur réservation.
