On April 25, the end of the dictatorship and the Carnation Revolution is celebrated. Demonstrations are taking place all over the country.
Commemorative celebration of the "Carnation Revolution", a famous revolution that was one of the most peaceful in history and marked the end of the Salazar dictatorship. Many demonstrations took place that day, including a large march down the avenida da Liberdade, where people were holding carnations (obviously!). There are also concerts, often artists are invited to paint frescoes on the panels of the calçada da Gloria. It is a day that is celebrated with joy and that brings everyone together.
