It is the week of religious processions in the historic Lisbon. It's unusual to see that in a European capital.
We know more about demonstrations in Spain, but in Lisbon too, it's something to celebrate! Several processions are organized in the city. The main theme of these processions is the Passion of Christ and the most festive days are Friday (which is a public holiday) and Easter Monday. A priest goes door to door with Christ on his cross to bless people. The procession to remember is the one that starts from the garden to the Basilica of Estrela on Palm Sunday, where the city's busiest mass is held.
