JARDIM BOTÂNICO D'AJUDA
A lovely botanical garden with a melancholic silhouette in Lisbon, with some French-style corners.
It is the very first botanical garden in Portugal, created in the 18th century by Pombal, initially as an outbuilding of the palace that was very close, then for the Lisbonites, in order to admire the flora from the colonies. It is a superb 4 hectare garden with a melancholic silhouette, with some corners arranged in a French style. Very beautiful clearings on the Tagus, a charming herb garden and, at the end, greenhouses, one of which is occupied by a high-ranking restaurant: Estufa Real! To visit if you have time and are in the area.
