CAPELA DE SÃO JERÓNIMO (CHAPEL OF THE RESTLO)
Small chapel surrounded by a vast garden offering a walk to see some beautiful examples of bourgeois architecture.
It is necessary to start from the tower of Belém and sail on sight towards the small white chapel which covers the hill. This walk allows you to admire some beautiful examples of 20th century bourgeois architecture. At the top, surrounded by a vast garden, this small chapel, built in 1514, offers a vision of "sober" Manueline art. Simple, bare, the chapel looks out to the horizon and looks down on its older sister. Originally, it was a property of the monks occupying the Jerónimos.
