TORRE DE BELÉM
Tower of Belém, whose purpose was to defend the access to the port and which served as the residence of the captain of the port.
What about this magnificent symbol of Lisbon? What about the Manueline elegance of the construction of the Torre de São Vicente (from 1515 to 1521)? A blend of Renaissance and exoticism including memories of the Koutoubia of Marrakech! Know that in the past this delicate sentinel stood in the middle of the Tagus! The tower was intended to defend access to the harbour and was also used as a residence by the harbour master. The interior doesn't have much interest though. Remember to take a ticket coupled with the monastery that cuts off the line.

Contrary to what I thought, this monument is not as impressive size. You quickly cropped, since half with in the water.
A representation of the Tower of Belém east is at the entrance of the pontoon, providing access to the stairs of Tour. The explanations and the model enables you to better understand its history. It is possible to visit it, if you have the courage to face the crowds and walk the very narrow stairways.
For information, if you also want to visit the hieronymite Monastery (jeronimos monastery), you can save by buying the Descobertas pack at €12: Hieronymite monastery + Tower of Belém.
prix un peu cher pour le temps d'attente (même hors saison - octobre).
cependant ce n'est pas indispensable si vous n'avez pas beaucoup de temps.
