SÉ (CATHEDRAL)
A Romanesque cathedral which imposes itself, in the middle of the buildings of the center of Lisbon. As beautiful from the inside as from the outside.
This fortified Romanesque cathedral, built in 1150 by D. Afonso Henriques on the site of a former mosque, is Lisbon's oldest religious monument, first restored in 1344. The interior is well worth a look: a Romanesque vault coexists with a Baroque choir and Gothic chapels. The cloister is also superb, with an admirable Arab-inspired wrought-iron grille. The Baroque sacristy contains the relics of Saint Vincent. Of particular note is a 13th-century monstrance set with over 4,000 precious stones.

Le cloitre est aussi très intéressant à visiter puisqu'on peut y observer des fouilles archéologiques en cours et découvrir des vestiges romains .
La visite du cloître(payante), n' est pas indispensable.
