PALÁCIO DA INDEPENDÊNCIA
Palace in Lisbon with a beautiful garden at the back, offering a visit to discover several rooms and a chapel.
A fine example of a 17th-century palace with many Manuelian features and two large fireplaces. Construction began in 1467. Housed inside the palace, the Sociedade Histórica da Independência de Portugal (Historical Society of Portuguese Independence) is developing a full schedule of exhibitions, conferences and concerts... You can visit several rooms and a chapel, including the azulejos room named after its earthenware-covered walls. To the rear is a pretty little garden with the outline of the Fernandine wall.
