PALÁCIO DA INDEPENDÊNCIA
Palace in Lisbon with a beautiful garden at the back, offering a visit to discover several rooms and a chapel.
A beautiful example of a 17th century palace with many Manuelan elements and two large fireplaces. Its construction began in 1467. Housed inside, the Historical Society of Portuguese Independence (Sociedade Histórica da Independência de Portugal) develops a whole agenda of exhibitions, conferences and concerts... You can visit several rooms and a chapel, including the azulejos room which bears his name because of its walls covered with earthenware. At the back is a pretty little garden with the layout of the Fernandine wall.
