This underground gallery is part of the Water Museum, as well as the Free Water Aqueduct, the Mãe d'Água, the Patriarchal Reservoir and the Barbadinhos Steam Station. It is the extension of the Aqueduct of the Free Waters in the city. This tunnel lined with stone channels carried water to the fountains. The entrance is in rua das Amoreiras (Casa do Registo) and the visit goes up to the Belvedere São Pedro de Alcântara (1,200 m). From the Patriarchal Reservoir (410 m).
