Museum of design and fashion with a huge counter, gathering nearly 2,500 pieces made by a multitude of authors.

The Musée du Design et de la Mode has finally reopened its doors after several years of renovation. Housed in a former Pombalin-style bank building, this brilliant museum brings together utilitarian objects, furniture and designer clothes - Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Christian Dior to name but a few. You'll rediscover conceptual and functional objects from pre- and post-war society, such as George Nelson's brilliant Marshmallow Sofa... Not to be missed!

L'entrée est gratuite donc ça vaut le coup d'y faire un tour : le musée est en bout de la rua Augusta près de la place du commerce. C'est un étrange bâtiment sans charme sur trois étages qui propose quelques collections allant du XIXe à nos jours; il y a beaucoup de documents papiers peu attractifs. Accueil sympathique.
