MUSEU DE ARTE POPULAR
Museum of Popular Art for artists and ethnologists in Lisbon, housing quality temporary exhibitions.
In this museum you'll find jewelry, musical instruments, traditional costumes, sculptures, ceramics, tools, etc., from all the provinces of Portugal, collected as they go along by artists and ethnologists, as well as high-quality temporary exhibitions. Inaugurated in 1948, the Museum of Folk Art was closed for almost 10 years in 2004, when its rooms were dusted off and divided by region. It's Lisbon's unloved museum, as it's often considered a product of fascism, since it was created by the Estado Novo.
