JARDIM ESTUFA FRIA AND ESTUFA QUENTE
Garden with wonderful greenhouses in a surreal atmosphere, organizing events.
These wonderful greenhouses (cold, warm and soft) were created in 1910 on the hillside in Eduardo VII Park. Often neglected by tourists, they are nevertheless sensational: palm trees, philodendrons that fall in cascades, ficus and other greasy or tropical plants crowd around small ponds, streams and waterfalls that can be discovered along the paths. Under subdued light, it is a peaceful tropical labyrinth that sometimes becomes very mysterious... A completely surrealist atmosphere worthy of a Hollywood movie! Inside, the birds' songs predominate, around a few big tomcats, cockerels and chickens... All these little people live together nicely. This is the opportunity to take a nice romantic or meditative walk, far from the noises of the city. From the top of the trails, you feel a little like a brontosaurus facing the primitive forest. The palm grove, more airy, offers perfect benches for daydreaming. When you think that all this is only a century old... Plants that grow so fast say a lot about the Lisbon climate. For us, it is an ideal and unmistakable oasis to start a Zen Sunday morning. In the winter garden, events have always been organised (concerts, exhibitions, theatre), in particular an experimental music festival (Lisboa Soa) not to be missed if you are in the area at the time it takes place (usually in September). Sensory travel guaranteed.
