At some point, your steps will naturally lead you to this garden along the rua da Escola Politécnica, at the very top of the Bairro Alto. A real oasis of greenery in the middle of the traffic, it shelters some remarkable trees, among which a gigantic cypress that spreads its branches over 20 meters in diameter. It is a meeting place for lovers, as well as for street musicians. On Saturday mornings, it hosts a nice little organic market. In the basement of the garden, a well hidden treasure can be visited: the Reservatório da Patriarcal.
