JARDIM DO PRÍNCIPE REAL
Garden with a well-hidden treasure in the basement, with some remarkable trees and a nice little organic market.
At some point, your footsteps will find their way to this magnificent, emblematic Príncipe Real garden. Here, old-timers play dominoes all day long, seated under some remarkable trees, including a gigantic 150-year-old Buçaco cedar, the oldest listed tree in the Portuguese capital, which spans 20 m in diameter. It's a meeting place for lovers and street musicians alike. On Saturday mornings, it hosts a friendly little organic market. In the basement of the garden, a well-hidden treasure can be visited: the Reservatório da Patriarcal.
