Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography with a collection of ancient and prehistoric remains and activities.
Created in 1974 after the Portuguese revolution, the MAEDS was opened to the public in 1976. It houses a rich collection of artefacts covering different historical periods, from prehistory to the post-Roman era, as well as ethnographic collections on local traditions, including fishing, salt cultivation and local crafts (shipbuilding, spinning and weaving). A must-see for a better understanding of the area's history.
