Procession through the decorated streets of Sesimbra. Concerts, fairs... And of course we're roasting sardines.
Religious festival whose origin dates back to the 18th century. On this holiday, a procession in the city escorts the fishermen carrying the statue of Senhor das Chagas. First there is a mass, then the procession starts along the sea and climbs to the heights. The streets are decorated with garlands, flower petals are thrown on the passage of the procession. In parallel, several activities take place: concert, fair, and of course, sardines are grilled.
