In its simplicity, this ancient synagogue seems to have absorbed the noise and fury of history and makes, as sifted by its gentle light, echo of passions. Built in 1430, it was closed in 1496, the date of the proclamation of the expulsion of Jews by King Manuel I. The museum contains Hebrew engravings and precious objects of the Jewish faith.
