SÉ (CATHEDRAL)
Cathedral of the 16th century with Mannerist Gothic architecture and harmonious elements of Renaissance and classical style in the interior.
The building was built in the 16th century. On the outside, it has a Mannerist Gothic architecture. Inside, the harmonious elements are of renaissance and classical style, the organ is baroque. The church has no bell tower. A high square dating from the early 17th century is provided with a balustrade of precious stones. The building was baroque after the heavy destruction caused by the earthquake of 1755.
Church of São Pedro, located at Largo de São Pedro: it is the oldest church in the city, the only one in Romanesque style, built in the 12th century.
