Focusing mainly on naturalist and romantic art (19th and 20th centuries), this museum houses works by the painter José Malhoa, known for his portraits of popular scenes. Also sculptures, especially official statues erected during the Estado Novo regime, and ceramics, mainly works by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro. The museum is housed in the Casa dos Barcos, a beautiful building whose gardens are perfectly maintained. If you don't want to visit the museum, you can also sit on the grass and enjoy the sun.
