Two beautiful renovated markets to stroll around:
The mercado do peixe (fish market), with a restaurant upstairs is located on the Largo da Praça do Peixe. It is here that the night fishing is sold. A must-see, as well as the typical neighborhood surrounding it.
The Mercado Municipal is located near the Canal do Cojo, not far from the shopping arcades of the modern shopping center, the Forum de Aveiro. The latter remain open late at night, including Sundays.
Think about going there when you are in Aveiro, you will get a small taste of the local Portuguese life.
