The Meseta Meridional Natural Geopark covers 4,600 km2 of territory, between the municipalities of Castelo Branco, Idanha-a-Nova, Nisa, Oleiros, Proença-a-Nova and Vila Velha de Ródão. It includes a vast geological, mining and hydrological heritage... 16 natural geomonuments have been identified: portas do Ródão Natural Monument in Vila Velha de Ródão / Nisa; Penha Garcia Ichnological Park (fossil tracks) in Idanha-a-Nova; Portas de Almourão in Proença-a-Nova / Vila Velha de Ródão; Inselberge granitique de Monsanto - Moreirinha - Alegrios à Idanha-a-Nova ; les Meandros de la rivière Zêzere à Oleiros ; les Canons flluviaux du Erges à Idanha-a-Nova ; les Morphologies granitiques du Castelo Velho à Castelo Branco ; les blocs pédonculés de Arez-Alpalhão à Nisa ; the Conhal do Arneiro Roman gold mine in Nisa; the Pônsul fault escarpment in Nisa / Vila Velha de Ródão / Castelo Branco / Idanha-a-Nova; the Fragas da Água d'Alta waterfall in Oleiros; the Minas de Segura road in Idanha-a-Nova; the Geomorphological Viewpoints of Corgas in Proença-a-Nova; the Ancient Mining Complex of Monforte da Beira in Castelo Branco; the Fossilized Trunks of Perais in Vila Velha de Ródão; the Epigenic Gorge of Malhada Velha in Oleiros.
