SAINT-MICHEL DE CLERMONT-EN-AUGE CHAPEL
A small, isolated chapel in the rolling countryside of Beuvron-en-Auge, offering superb views over the Caen plain.
A small chapel built of stone and half-timbering in the time of William the Conqueror. Remodelled over the years, it is accessed through a beech grove several hundred years old, before offering superb panoramic views over the Dives valley to the hills of Mont Pinçon and the forested relief of the Orne département. Inside:12th-century altar, late medieval Christ, statues of Saint Jean-Baptiste, Saint Michel, Saint Marcouf and Saint Thibault, reputed to cure fevers.
