HALLS
The materials used to renovate this hall are authentic to Beuvron-en-Auge.
As in many communes in the region and elsewhere, the halles (covered market) play a central role here. Destroyed in 1845 and 1959, the building was rebuilt in 1975 by Michel Vermughen, mayor of the village from 1971 to 1996, and a handful of enthusiasts. The materials used in its renovation are authentic, having been salvaged from former buildings demolished following the construction of the A13 motorway. This superb timber-framed covered market hall now houses a popular restaurant and a number of antique dealers.
