LE JARDIN D’EDEN
The Garden of Eden... The name chosen for this place evokes the paradise lost with its fruits, spices, and pastries from elsewhere, the cave of Ali Baba with its brass lamps, colourful crockery, hookahs, and Berber jewels, and the Palace of Shéhérazade with its precious fabrics, colourful carpets, leather poufs, and furniture in zellige. As in the biblical garden, it is nice and warm all year round, free change without leaving Caen! The welcome of Slim and Sonia, warm as there, restores its meaning to the word hospitality, and it is good for morale. A loukoum, a date, or a welcome olive, a gazelle horn for the road, and a Fatma hand against the evil eye, you walk in the shop as in the shop, at look and the bold nostrils of delicious smells. Need a couscoussier or tajine dish? A pair of slippers or an applique application? What if you offered Aleppo soap and argan oil? It doesn’t matter if you don’t buy right away. We can leave the heart; we know we will return, Inch’Allah. The shop is not far away...
