SLEEPING CEMETERY OF THE FOUR-NATIONS
Cemetery near the Jardin des Plantes, which only welcomes the deceased of families with a perpetual concession
Feel like thinking outside the box? This cemetery, known as the Four Nations Cemetery, located near the Jardin des Plantes, is well worth a visit. Despite its bucolic location, it is considered a "sleeping" place, as it only welcomes the deceased of families holding a perpetual concession, and owes its name to the fact that people who lived in the four surrounding parishes were buried there. Its wooded setting charmed François Truffaut, who turned La Chambre Verte into a museum in 1978.
