MICHEL D'ORNANO PARK
An French garden inspired by Le Nôtre, with a hillock offering a superb view, a great address in Caen.
A French garden of the 18th century, the former Saint-Louis Park was part of the heritage of the Ladies’ Abbey. Designed in 1774 by François-Philippe Charpentier, the Conseil Général de Basse-Normandie became the owner in 1983 and hired a landscape designer to redesign it. In 1992, the Michel d’Ornano Park was opened. It is composed of multiple spaces: French-style flowerbeds, lime tree alleys, maze mounds... You can also discover a superb Cedar of Lebanon planted in 1849. The whole on 6 ha, enough to stroll a whole afternoon.
