PANGUE OBSERVATORY

The Vicuña region inevitably attracts astronomers of all kinds… The Pangue Observatory is a good example, with a well-chosen geographical location close to the prestigious Cerro Tololo and Cerro Pachon observatories, about 17 km south of Vicuña and 1,478 m high! Two towers are offered to the individual… The Astro Tour takes place in a small committee (maximum group of 10 people), with a departure from Vicuña by minibus to the observatory. Once there, only beautiful program level with the sunset on the landscapes and on the cupolas of the great observatories nearby, then observations to the naked eye of constellations, the Milky Way, the Clouds of Magellan, etc. What to put in the leg before the observations through the 400 mm diameter telescope in diameter. The Extreme Tower incorporates the main lines of the previous one, but proposes to observe in particular the deep sky (clusters of stars, nebulae and galaxies) in a giant telescope of 630 mm in diameter! This program will be of interest to our senses especially knowledgeable amateurs (who have already observed in good diameter telescopes) rather than neophytes who may not see real differences with observations made at 400 mm. Finally, the observatory also offers "Extreme Nights" reserved for experienced amateurs who can then use as much as they like all the materials on site, including to take shots of the southern sky.
