ST. LAWRENCE CHAPEL
Romanesque chapel, nestled on the heights, the fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent helped restore the historic monument.
In Romanesque style, perched on the heights, the small 12th-century chapel reveals itself by going up the Chemin de l’Eau towards the Coteau district. It goes almost unnoticed, as if preserved, nestled in the shelter of a plant vault composed of ancient trees. However, its bell tower has dominated the heights of the city for more than nine centuries. Little known to the Deauville people themselves, the chapel has been classified as a Historical Monument since 1977. A great story: the fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent helped restore it. This is a chapel that bears his name like no other. Miracle of life: here, more than anywhere else, a "St. Lawrence" can hide another!
