LALIC CHAPEL (OUR LADY OF FIDELITY)
Lalique Chapel, classified as a historical monument, benefits from the fervour of a handful of nuns and an artist.
A very beautiful chapel, the result of the enthusiasm and fervour of a handful of nuns and an artist: René Lalique. At the beginning of the 20th century, wishing to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of their community, the nuns of Dover called upon the artist to renovate their chapel. René Lalique did not beat around the bush: he made a translucent Christ on a cross, three glass roofs, an altarpiece, a tabernacle door, bright columns and a sanctuary lamp. For stained glass, he used the glass slab technique, of which he is the precursor. The result is a wonder. The chapel is now classified as a Historic Monument.
