An ideal location in the Plateau. Private or shared rooms and a rooftop terrace that's a real plus.

For 30 years, a legendary inn that attracts travelers of all ages. An ideal location, just a stone's throw from the Plateau Mont-Royal, the Latin Quarter and the Quartier des spectacles. A fine selection of private and shared rooms. On the superb rooftop terrace, gastronomic and cultural evenings are organized during the summer, by reservation only. The attentive team will help you enjoy the city and its little jewels. New this summer: the building is expanding to accommodate 10 beautiful private rooms.

Great value in Montreal. The staff were very friendly. From the very beginning, Carl made an incredible effort to make my stay in Montreal great. He’s a natural language teacher too. He put in great effort to encourage guests to practice their french. Very patient and caring. For $40 a night you receive $400 in language lessons if you are willing to try. Michelle was also very helpful.

The private rooms are great value for the money. The dormitories are also incredible value, however it’s important to note that if you stay in a dorm, there is nowhere public to work or take a phone call after 11pm. This is not an issue with a private room as even the most basic ones have a desk.

The breakfast is INCREDIBLE value. Really, not sure how they are able to provide this for $40 a night dorm bookings, unbelievably generous.

Note that while this is a certified “auberge de jeunesse” there are a lot of seniors and families with small children, so it might not have the youth hostel vibe you are expecting. I would stay here again, especially in a private room. They are NICE.
