LE MOUNT STEPHEN
Exceptional upscale hotel in Montreal with rooms and suites including the magnificent lofts with private terrace.
The former residence of businessman George Stephen has been transformed into an exceptional high-end hotel establishment under the banner The Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel has 90 rooms and suites, including the magnificent Sky Loft with private terrace, the ultimate in comfort and the latest technology. The range of services is of course up to the standard of the establishment and we recommend a meal or aperitif at the Bar George with its breathtaking historical setting.

The room was spacious and comfy. The bathroom was like something from sci-fi, colour changing lights in the rainfall shower and a bath so deep that even a tall person like me could float in it. The breakfast was lovely and I also had a drink at the bar - once again I was impressed here, because generally when I want a bloody Mary in Canada I have to ask for 'a caesar but with regular tomato juice instead of clamato'. When I did this at the hotel bar the bartender immediately said 'ah, yes we can make you a bloody mary no problem'. I was so pleased.
The price tag is what you'd expect for this kind of hotel, and I wouldn't normally stay somewhere so luxurious on a whim, but after two days of being in airports and planes I was desperate for a good bath and a bed that wasn't a plane seat or airport chair. I took the gamble that my travel insurance would cover a lot of the cost and decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did. I was well taken care of and really had the stress of not knowing when I would get home lifted from me.
