Church admirable for its imposing Romanesque tower and its bell tower.
It was in this place that the first Mass was celebrated in free land, on June 18th, 1944. And it is also the bell tower of this church that rang the bells of freedom for the first time on June 14th, 1944. The building was built in the 11th century, and is admirable and admired for its imposing Romanesque tower and its bell tower. Another remarkable feature of the site: the well, located in front of the church, that was commended in the British Army order as gratitude. Between June 6 and July 1st, 1944, it indeed provided some seven million litres of water to the Allies. Needless to say, it was, among others, one of the essential elements for the final victory.
