COOPERATIVE ISIGNY SAINTE-MERE
An exceptional terroir: Until the sea receded in the 16th century, the Isigny region was the largest marsh in Europe. The clayey and sediment-rich soil allows abundant and green grass to grow. A blessing for the breeders who have been able to produce exceptional milk and enjoy a solid reputation. A godsend for cows whose milk is enriched with mineral salts and trace elements.
The association of two cooperatives: In order to preserve what would become their brand, the region’s producers are grouping together. Thus, Isigny Sainte-Mère is the alliance of two dairy cooperatives (that of Isigny-sur-Mer in Calvados, since 1932 and that of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, in Manche, created in 1909). Gathered together thanks to common values (respect for the terroir and people, concern for quality, same ambition), the two cooperatives merged in 1980. From then on, the new entity set out to conquer the world. And it was a success: today, exports represent more than half of the turnover.
A dairy that belongs to the producers: Isigny Ste-Mère is an independent dairy cooperative. The shareholders are the milk producers delivering to the cooperative.
Products and benefits: The direct sales boutique is located just near the dairy of the Isigny Sainte-Mère cooperative in Calvados. A must for dairy lovers who will be able to find cheeses, fresh cream and butter, of high quality and at a lower cost.
Very attractive prices.
