Batubulan is a fairly touristy town located 5 km northeast of the city of Denpasar, and is an important crossroads on the road to Ubud. Here you'll find bus connections to various destinations such as central Ubud, to the east (Klungkung/Semarapura, Gianyar, Padang Bai (from where you can take the ferry to Lombok), Amlapura, Tirtagangga, Kintamani (Batur lake and volcano), Singaraja (via the eastern road through Kintamani), and finally Nusa Dua (access via Sanur) in southern Bali.
