Originally from a Brahmin family in the capital, Ida Bagus Alit was born in 1947 in the same huge, magnificent house where he has lived all his life and where he continues to create. An accomplished artist, he now heads a group of Balinese sculptors. Regularly invited to take part in contemporary art exhibitions and competitions around the world, Ida, who lives very simply, spends his days drawing, painting and sculpting with his brother.
