GARUDA WISNU KENCANA CULTURAL PARK
A cultural park with a monumental statue and numerous shows, located in the heart of the Bukit peninsula.
This statue was created from scratch by Nyoman Nuarta, the master builder of the project. The god Vishnu, who symbolizes the source of wisdom, is depicted riding his companion, Garuda, the mythological bird signifying the manifestation of consciousness to Amerta, the eternal goodness. The GWK Cultural Park is located in the heart of the Bukit Peninsula, on the main road that divides it in two, impossible to miss. Created in the middle of an old abandoned limestone quarry, it is centered around the creation and installation of a gigantic statue made from 400 tons of copper and brass. The goal is to erect the largest statue in the world (150 meters), which represents for Bali and Indonesia as a whole a major tourist and economic issue. The park can be visited for a short time and restaurants and shops are located in this area. A real complex accessible from the parking lot by shuttle. An impressive place of architecture and culture in which it is good to walk while learning a lot about Indonesian folklore. The only drawback is that you have to be aware of the many additional payments to be made once you are there, during the walk. But if this does not scald you, the route will give you many opportunities to take beautiful photographs. There are many shows throughout the day (included in the basic ticket, fortunately).
