Museum to visit in Nyuh Kuning, housing sculptures by I Wayan Pendet and pictorial works by local contemporary artists.
The small museum houses the works of the sculptor I Wayan Pendet (1936-1998), who in his youth was the model of the painter Rudolf Bonnet. Bonnet and Cokorda Agung Sukawati recognized his talent as a woodcarver and included some of his works in the Puri Lukisan Museum, which was founded by the Pita Maha movement. Pendet later established his own museum in his native village. There are also pictorial works by contemporary artists of Nyuh Kuning. A very nice visit to make with a part in the open air.
