Hindu temple complex, dating from 1329, with several pavilions housing a multitude of stone statues in Pejeng.
This Hindu temple complex dates back to 1329, with several areas including several "préaux" or "pavilions" housing a multitude of stone statues, and a vast square-shaped area reminiscent of an ancient arena. The site contains a number of interesting pieces, including the Caturkaya.
In a pavilion opposite that of the "Pejeng vase", you'll find a linggam and a yoni, the female and male fertility symbols that attract young couples wishing to start a family and who come here on pilgrimage.
