PURA GUNUNG RAUNG
Temple built in paras, an authentic sacred place where devotees pray to a kaja of their own, to be visited in Taro.
Temple built of paras, volcanic stones that lend themselves very well to carving, making it easy to juxtapose them. The temple's most distinctive feature is that worshippers pray towards a kaja of their own, i.e. towards the west and Gunung Raung in particular. Taro has retained the privilege or disadvantage of being the only village in Bali where albino cattle are raised for ritual ceremonies. This requires ritual offerings to both Pura Dalem and Pura Gunung Raung.
