BATUR LAKE
Sacred lake, the largest in Bali, dedicated to the goddess Dewi Danu and located 1,000 meters above sea level in the Batur caldera at Pelelokan.
Bali's largest lake, a geological gem formed over 30,000 years ago. Stretching some 10 kilometers and 65 meters deep, its tranquil waters provide fresh fish and are a vital resource for the surrounding communities. On the southern shore lies the charming village of Kedisan, the ideal starting point for a boat trip on the sparkling waters of the lake. Situated at an altitude of 1,000 metres, this sacred lake, home to the goddess Dewi Danu, symbolizes the nourishing waters that irrigate the rice fields of central and eastern Bali.
