Independence Park is a large park where the country pays tribute to all the citizens who fought during the 35 years of Japanese colonization (1910 to 1945). The park includes the Seodaemun prison, the Gate of Independence (Dongnimmun), stelae and commemorative statues... This memorial park is there to honour all these Korean people with exemplary patriotism. It is particularly popular on June 6, national day of commemoration of the dead for the Fatherland.
