Saint-Pierre Cathedral in Lisieux, a jewel of Norman Gothic art. You can discover, among other things, the chapel of the Virgin.
This cathedral, jewel of the Norman Gothic art, is undoubtedly the first jewel of the religious heritage of Lexovia, before the basilica. It is the successor to a Romanesque cathedral, which burned down in 1126. Its construction began around 1170 under the aegis of Bishop Arnoult, friend of King Louis VI and adviser to the Duke of Normandy, and was completed in 1182. It is composed in large part of soft and friable limestone from the Touques valley. One can discover, among other things, the chapel of the Virgin, in which the little Therese had the revelation of her mission in 1887.
