The election of Frøken Verden (Miss Monde) is a very successful event that miracerly cultivates self-ridicule. Originally created by and for the gay community, it is now highly appreciated by the general public. The unspoiled parade is even broadcast on television where Danish viewers have been able to discover a drag queen dressed in a dress entirely composed of Barbie dolls! The election takes place every two years, odd years.
