You don't need a membership to work out. The www.friskissvettis.dk gym section offers free outdoor classes during the summer in Nørrebro and Østerbro. What's very local

The open-air swimming pools in the harbor are a testament to the quality of the water. Diving into the canals in winter, dressed as Eve or Adam, has almost become a ritual - they say it firms you up! As far as the pool-sauna is concerned, you need to take a shower before swimming or splashing around in the pool. You'll be given a sponge soaked in soap when you go into the cabin. Please note that some establishments are closed in summer, particularly in July, or have modified opening times compared with the rest of the year.

Some companies allow you to rent electric or solar boats with a capacity of up to eight people without any specific qualification or licence. You must be over 18 years of age. You sail around the canals and the harbour of Copenhagen. For yachts or sailboats, if you are not accompanied by a skipper or crew, you must have a coastal licence.

Main events

Vinterjazz. Renowned for the quality of its programming, this festival has made a name for itself since its creation twenty years ago! A not-to-be-missed event in February, several Danish cities, and Copenhagen in particular, live to the rhythm of jazz.

Ølfestival. For the past 25 years, Ølfestival has been bringing together Denmark's craft brewers and all the country's beer lovers. Some 1,500 different beers to taste and 200 breweries present.

Roskilde is the festival not to be missed. Its DNA is rock music. Considered Scandinavia's Woodstock for the past 50 years, it's still going strong, attracting thousands of festival-goers to open-air concerts featuring rock stars and established bands from all over the world.
