GRUNDTVIG CHURCH
This church, built in homage to the priest, poet and teacher N.F.S. Grundtvig, is distinguished by its monumental organ facade
The monumental organ façade is reminiscent of the crenellated churches of the Danish countryside. The church was built between 1924 and 1936 as a tribute to the priest, poet and pedagogue N.F.S. Grundtvig (1783-1872) who had a considerable influence on Danish intellectual life in the 19th century. Built by Peder Vilhelm-Klint and his son Kaare Klint, this yellow brick building blends into an environment of buildings also designed by the two architects. Faithful to Protestant rigour, light and austere simplicity highlight the purity of the lines.
