ST. ALEXANDER NEVSKY CHURCH
Orthodox church built at the request of Princess Dagmar, distinguished by its Russo-Byzantine architecture.
Three golden bulbs stand in the sky. An air of Russia? Indeed, it is an Orthodox church, built in 1883 at the request of Princess Dagmar (1847-1928), daughter of the Danish king Christian IX and her husband Tsar Alexander III. It is dedicated to the patron saint of the Tsar. Its russo-byzantine architecture is striking from the red and white brick facade laid on a grey granite base. Inside, there is a magnificent mosaic floor and iconostasis wall.
