DR-BYEN & KONCERTHUSET
A symphony hall designed by Jean Nouvel featuring an 1,800-seat concert hall and 4 recording studios.
The task of creating Copenhagen's symphony hall fell to the highly publicized French architect Jean Nouvel. The 25,000m2 building features a 1,800-seat concert hall and 4 recording studios, and is as striking as it is astonishing! Cast in smooth concrete, the architecture is enveloped in a sort of blue net that lights up completely at night. The velvety orange main auditorium boasts exceptional acoustics. It is complemented by a contemporary organ by Dutch artist Van den Heuvel.
