TIETGENKOLLEGIET
A university residence that stimulates creativity, designed by Lundgaard & Tranberg and urban planner Marianne Levinsen.
In early 2006, a brand-new type of student residence was inaugurated: highly functional, pleasant to live in and, to say the least, original! The competition was won by Lundgaard & Tranberg in collaboration with urban planner Marianne Levinsen. The result lives up to the designers' original intentions, and in the opinion of the students, these spaces really stimulate their creativity. The circular building is inspired by traditional Chinese dwellings, the hakkas (Unesco). Standing 7 storeys high, it houses 360 rooms divided into blocks of 12.
