UNIVERSITY (UNIVERSITET)
Founded in 1479, the university has been housed since 1836 in this building designed by Peter Malling (1781-1865). The façade is preceded by busts of the doctrines, the worthy representatives of the intelligentsia: in total, 9 of them. Among them, the best known is perhaps Niels Bohr (1885-1962), winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics for his research on quantum mechanics. On entering the building, there is a rich ensemble of murals painted by Constantin Hansen (entrance hall) and Wilhelm Marstrand (VIP room). In the courtyard nestles the House of the consistory (1420).
