This bridge, which crosses the Frederiksholm Canal, provides access to the quarry of Christianborg Castle. It was once the main entrance to the castle. Among the few remains of the first palace before the fire of 1795 are the two pavilions to which it leads and the royal stables. This rococo ensemble signed Nicolai Eigtved was completed in 1772. Decorated with medallions by the sculptor Louis-Augustin Le Clerc, it owes its name to the light-coloured Norwegian marble that covers it.
